About Us

Link Dyslexia is owned and managed by Sarah Firby.

Sarah graduated from Durham Univeristy with first class honours and Qualified Teacher Status in 2005. She has taught across primary, secondary, further and higher education as a SEN and dyslexia specialist and holds post-graduate qualifications in these areas.

Sarah became a Specialist Assessor in 2017. She gained her first assessment practicing certificate (APC) at this time and has since worked for various agencies as a Dyslexia / SpLD Assessor, including the British Dyslexia Association, local authorities, schools, colleges, universities and private sector companies. She is a professional member of PATOSS and SASC.

Sarah is trained to assess for ADHD in adults and adolescents. She is also a qualified workplace needs assessor covering dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, autism and mental health.

Inclusion is at the heart of Sarah's ethos; she believes that everybody should have the opportunity to acheive their potential. Her assessments therefore focus on identifying and developing strengths, as well as recognising and addressing challenges. Sarah has a fiendly, welcoming approach.

When she is not assessing, Sarah enjoys running, yoga, and spending time with her family, including her cat, Astro.
